iPhone and iPad users have been advised to update their devices to fix notable security flaws that may have been exploited by hackers. Apple made the software updates available at the end of January, adding a rare note that it was a serious threat.
One of the vulnerabilities noted affects the “kernel” of software of Apple’s operating system, iOS. Other vulnerabilities affect WebKit, the web browser engine used by Safari and other apps. Devices that are not updated could allow hackers to take control if you made your way to a malicious web page.
If you own an Apple phone or tablet and have not already updated, please make upgrading to the latest version of iOS a priority.
